Basal squamules persistent, conspicuous, 2–4 mm long, 1–2 mm diam., rounded, minutely lobed, with subcrenate margins, esorediate. Podetia growing from basal squamules, 1–3 cm tall, 0.5–1, rarely to 2 mm diam.; cortex areolate, becoming granular to warted, esorediate, esquamulose or with squamules on podetial stalk or on margins of scyphi; scyphi broad, 2–5, rarely to 8 mm diam., simple, or with short, narrow, marginal or lateral, or central scyphi. Apothecia marginal on scyphi, 1–2 mm diam., convex, dark brown. Pycnidia marginal on scyphi, 0.2 mm diam., subglobose, black. CHEMISTRY: K-, KC- or KC+ yellow, P+ strong yellow. Psoromic (major) and conpsoromic (minor) acids, ±usnic acid (minor). | ||
Occurs in N.S.W., A.C.T., Vic. and Tas.; grows on soil. | ||
