Thallus epiphyllous, usually small and scattered or confluent and forming moderately large colonies, continuous, pale grey-green to pale yellowish grey, smooth to minutely uneven, matt to slightly glossy; prothallus not apparent. Algae Phycopeltis; cells ellipsoidal to angular, not or scarcely forming radiating plates. Perithecial verrucae usually very numerous, convex to hemispherical, 0.15–0.2 mm diam., smooth; wall containing a layer of colourless crystals; ostiole inconspicuous or pale brown and punctiform; periostiolar area concolorous with the thallus, or the entire verruca pale reddish brown. Involucrellum apical, vestigial. Exciple c. 10 µm thick, hyaline to pale yellowish brown. Asci narrowly obclavate, 50–60 × 8–10 µm. Ascospores oblong to narrowly fusiform, 3-septate, 12–18 × 2–3.5 µm; perispore not apparent. Pycnidia not seen. | ||
Occurs in Christmas Is. and north-eastern Qld; grows on the leaves of shrubs and trees in lowland and montane rainforest. Also in West Africa, India, SE Asia and Malesia. | ||
