Thallus epiphyllous, small and scattered or confluent and forming rather large colonies, pale yellowish grey to pale grey-green, matt to slightly glossy, minutely and irregularly uneven; prothallus whitish or not apparent. Algae Phycopeltis; cells ellipsoidal, angular or irregular, not forming radiating plates. Perithecial verrucae conical (immature) to wart-shaped (mature), 0.32–0.55 mm diam.; wall containing a layer of colourless crystals; apex rounded or slightly applanate; periostiolar area a minute but conspicuous blackish spot in immature verrucae, becoming broader, more diffuse and paler at maturity. Involucrellum apical and ±vestigial. Exciple 15–20 µm thick, pale brown to pale yellowish brown. Asci narrowly cylindrical to narrowly obclavate, 74–90 × 8–10 µm. Ascospores elongate-fusiform to oblong, 7-septate, 20–35 × 3–5 µm; perispore not apparent. Pycnidia not seen. | ||
Occurs in north-eastern Qld; grows on the leaves of shrubs and trees in rainforest. Also in the Neotropics, East Africa, India, New Guinea and New Caledonia. | ||
