Squamae appressed, solitary or contiguous, occasionally imbricate, rounded, becoming deeply lobate, concave and shallowly rimose, matt to glossy, pale brown to dark olive-green, 3–12 (–15) mm wide, 0.15–0.25 mm thick; margin concolorous, deflexed; undersurface brown to brown-black; rhizines pale brown to black, branched, 0.03–0.1 mm thick. Perithecia almost completely immersed, 10–40 (–60) per squama; apex plane to convex, concolorous with the thallus, 0.2–0.3 mm diam.; ostiole dark brown, depressed. Centrum 0.3–0.5 mm wide. Exciple 25–45 µm thick, pale to dark brown. Periphyses 40–80 µm long. Asci 1-spored, 95–129 × 29–44 µm. Ascospores elongate-ellipsoidal to subcylindrical, 62–97 × 20–37 µm, becoming medium brown at maturity. | ||
