Squamae contiguous, occasionally imbricate, rounded to irregular, shallowly to deeply lobate, concave to convex, not rimose, matt, pale olive-green to grey-brown, 1–5 mm wide, 0.3–0.5 mm thick; margin concolorous, often somewhat thickened, deflexed to slightly revolute; undersurface brown to black; rhizines brown to black, richly branched, 50–150 µm thick. Perithecia immersed, 5–15 per squama; apex concave to slightly convex, dark brown to black, 0.18–0.32 mm diam.; ostiole strongly depressed. Centrum 0.4–0.5 mm wide. Exciple 35–50 µm thick, brown-black. Periphyses 60–90 µm long. Asci 1-spored, 130–191 × 48–77 µm. Ascospores broadly to elongate-ellipsoidal, 106–171 × 40–69 µm, medium to dark brown. | ||
An endemic species; known only from the type locality in south-western W.A. where it grows on soil over a granite outcrop. | ||
