| Thallus endolithic, diffuse, pale grey to pale yellowish brown; prothallus blackish or not apparent. Perithecia immersed in pits, 0.3–0.55 mm diam.; apex plane, black; ostiole eventually gaping. Involucrellum absent. Exciple 20–30 µm thick, dark brown to black above, paler below. Centrum 0.2–0.45 mm wide. Periphyses 30–50 µm long. Asci 8-spored, c. 130 × 40 µm. Ascospores submuriform, with 3–5 (–7) transverse septa and each transverse loculus with 1 or 2 longitudinal septa, ellipsoidal or broadly clavate, 28–52 × 15–22 µm, colourless. . |  |
