Thelidium olivaceum (Fr.) Körber
     
  Parerga Lichenol . 382 (1863); Verrucaria olivacea Fr. (1831). T: Europe; n.v.  
     
  Thallus diffuse to determinate, subepilithic, minutely rimose to ±areolate, dark olive-brown, matt, ±smooth, 20–50 µm thick; areolae rounded, plane to slightly convex, 0.1–0.2 mm wide. Algae globose, 7–12 µm diam. Prothallus not apparent. Perithecia semi-immersed to almost superficial, partly overgrown by the thallus, 0.18–0.26 mm diam.; apex rounded; ostiole inconspicuous. Involucrellum black, contiguous with the exciple, c. 30 µm thick. Exciple c. 15 µm thick, hyaline to pale brown. Centrum 0.12–0.18 mm wide. Periphyses c. 35 µm long. Asci 60–70 × 20 µm. Ascospores 1-septate, elongate-ellipsoidal to subcylindrical, sometimes slightly constricted at the septum, 19–25 × 9–12 µm.
     
  Known from shaded carboniferous limestone at a single locality in East Gippsland, Vic.; also in central and southern Europe and North America.
