Born in Mackay, Qld, to an accountant, John Allen, and Jemima née Cook. Grace sent Mueller a specimen of a garden plant from Cairns in 1894. Her friend, ELLIE BAUER, also collected MEL specimens. In 1908, Grace married Harold Griffyard Roberts (d.1929) of 'Shirley Station', and they had two children. In 1940, Grace died aged 69 in Wagga Wagga, NSW, while on a visit to her daughter's family. One letter from Grace to Mueller survives.
