Beveridge, Peter (1829 - 1885)

Born Dunfermline, Scotiand, 24 June 1829; died near Kilmore,French Is., Vic, 4 Oct. 1885.

Squatter. Arrived Port Phillip, Vic, 1839, & settled at 'Mercer's Vale'. With brothers took up pastoral station (Tyntynder') nearSwan Hill, 1846-68.

Collected for Mueller 1859-65 incl Lake Tyrrell with J.Wilhelmi. Wrote on Aborigines. Later moved to French Is., collecting there 1873.

Commemorated in Dicrastylis.
