Robert Blyth was one of several engravers who made copperplate illustrations of the specimens collected by Joseph Banks and Daniel Carl Solander on James Cook's first voyage (1768-1771). Now known as Banks' Florilegium (although never published in Banks' time), the collection consists of 738 botanical engravings based on the drawings of artist Sydney Parkinson.
