Businessman, pastoralist. Led expedition in Kimberley, WA, 14 Mar.-6 May 1891, from Wyndham across Pentecost, Durack, Forrest, Drysdale, Carson, Woodhouse & Roe Rivers & return (not to Prince Regent R. as he thought), collecting specimens with W.T. Allen.
Discovered rock art later named for him.
