Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria |
A school teacher in mathematics and physics, who retired as Senior Superintendent of High Schools in Tasmania. Brett took an intense interest in the eucalypts of Tasmania, collecting extensively and making notes on variation and hybridisation. His herbarium was purchased by the Tasmanian Biological Survey in 1938 and deposited in the Museum collection. Brett subsequently assembled another collection, most (?all) of which was destroyed in a bushfire in 1967. His original collection is now in HO.
