Methodist missionary. To NZ 1855. Lived variously in NZ, Samoa, New Britain, but visited other islands, New Guinea etc., & Australia as Secretary Foreign Missionary Soc. 1887-1908, incl. Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane.
