Born at Wybong Creek, NSW, 22 October 1841, died at Scone on 27 July 1925, aged 84.
Born at Wybong Creek, NSW, one of thirteen children, to Robert Carter and Sarah née Hollingdor (c.1819- 1882). The family lived at the grazing property 'Woomelguy', Moonan Brook near Scone.
Henriette collected MEL specimens (including fungi) at the upper Hunter River, 1880, 1882, 1887, 1889; south of the Liverpool Range, 1880; Moonan Brook, 1881-1884; and Stewarts Brook, 1892.
She collected types of Gymnoglossum stiptatum Massee (1891) and Pseudocolus rothae Lloyd (1907).
A number of Henriette's brothers and her mother, SARAH CARTER, also collected MEL specimens.
There are also Henriette Carter specimens at BM, G, and GLAM. Otto Nordstedt identified some of Henriette's specimens of freshwater algae for M, and George Massee identified fungi.
After the death of her parents, Henriette lived at 'Woomelguy' with other unmarried siblings.
She died at Scone in 1925 aged 84.
One letter from Henriette to Mueller survives, and a Christmas card from Mueller.
