Born on 25 April 1952;
She graduated from the Australian National University with a PhD in 1997.
Lindy is a botanist, an associate scientist with the College of Science, ANU and the Australian National Herbarium (ANH/CSIRO).
She officially 'retired' from her day job in plant quarantine risk with the Australian Government in 2016, and is now working full-time on the resolution of the taxonomy of the Australian plant family, Pittosporaceae.
Cayzer was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2016 which enabled her to visit herbaria in Europe and South-East Asia to study the taxonomic data held on family Pittosporaceae. She was supported in this by her husband, Robin Cayzer.
She has continued to work on other Australian plants, publishing a monograph on Gastrolobium, and a monograph on Daviesia, and work on insect pests in timber.
