Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria |
It is not known where Dr Chisholm was born, though it was probably in New South Wales and about the year 1880; he graduated in medicine from the University of Sydney in 1904. He died at Blaxland, in the Blue Mountains near Sydney, N.S.W., on 23 April 1944.
He practised in several country areas of New South Wales, including Marrangee and Comboyne, and later in the Sydney suburbs of Croydon and Mosman. He was interested in the native flora, especially the eucalypts, and collected both in New South Wales and at Prairie in Queensland.
Honoured in the name Eucalyptus chisholmii Maiden & Blakely (1924)
