Christensen, Trevor (1954 - )

Trevor was born and raised in Queensland where he completed tertiary studies in horticulture and botany. After a short time of working for local government in Queensland he moved to South Australia and has held a number of roles within the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide and Department for Environment and Heritage, including a number of years as Horticultural Botanist.

Trevor Christensen is [in 2012] Deputy Director at the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide, where he has close responsibility for policy development, Ministerial briefings and planning and reporting for the Botanic Gardens, including the Gardens Strategic Planning. Prior to this he managed the Garden education and interpretation, information resources and conservation research programs. He has also been closely involved in the establishment and operation of the Sustainable Landscapes project, a partnership project that has been funded through a number of both public and private enterprises.

He has specialist knowledge in the area of harmful plants, working closely with hospitals, doctors and emergency staff in provision of advice and lectures. In recent years he has had close involvement with development of the site Master Plans for the Adelaide, Mt Lofty and Wittunga Botanic Gardens.
