Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria |
Born 7 May 1868 but information is not currently available on where he was born.
He joined
the forest service of NSW on 24 April 1908 and was promoted to District
Forester on 1 July 1912. The Public Service List (of NSW) showing
permanent appointments at 31 December 1917 gave his position as
District Forester, Moruya.
Subsequent issues of that
publication recorded him in the same position up to 31 December 1932
but not at 31 December 1933. He would have been 65 on 7 May 1933.
When
'Botanists of the Eucalypts' (1978) was in preparation it had not been
possible to find out anything about this man, but thanks to Mr K. Hill
of the National Herbarium of NSW in 1990 it was possible to see the
record on the label of the lectotype and note Clulee's initials and
that he was a District Forester.
