"My father Louis George Dillon of Woy Woy was commissioned by Andrew Murphy of Koollywong to go to Western Australia in the late 1800s to collect seeds of all the large trees of the south west including Karri, Kurrajong and other species including the Red Flowering Gum and brought bags of all these back to Andrew Murphy. The Red Flowering Gum seed was the first in the eastern states. My father was born on 20 August 1868 – died Oct 1961. He ran a 40 acre farm out on the hill out past the Woy Woy tip known to locals as Dillons Farm. He is buried at Point Clare Cemetary."
