William Donovan was born on 27 November 1861, probably in Western Australia, and died at Southern Cross, W.A. on 31 December 1939.
Following service with the A.I.F. in World War 1 he commenced with the Forests Department of the State as an assistant ranger on 1 July I917, and was a forester when he retired in January 1927.
