Born in Launceston, Tas., in 1849; died in Sydney, NSW, in 1927.
The youngest daughter of clergyman John Fereday (1813-1871) and Susan Georgina Marianne Fereday (née Abthorp/Apthorpe) (c. 1810-1878). The Feredays lived in George Town, Tas., from 1846 to 1875.
Elizabeth probably collected MEL specimens (as 'Miss Fereday') (algae) at Tamar River, 1865.
Elizabeth's mother, Susan Fereday, and her father also collected MEL specimens.
In 1878, Elizabeth married a bank manager, Charles Thomas Brewer (1848–1941), and they had eight children.
Elizabeth died in Sydney in 1927 aged 78.
