Louisa was born in New Zealand to Henry and Louisa Sarah Franklyn.
Louisa collected MEL specimens (as 'Miss Franklyn') at Albany and 'Mungden', 1884.
In 1886, she married Henry Thoburn Clarke (c.1845-1901), a journalist, and they had three children.
Louisa collected MEL specimens (as 'Mrs Clarke') at King George Sound, 1889.
M sent Louisa a copy of his Select extra-tropical plants (1885).
Louisa died at Godmersham, Kent, England, in 1937 aged 76.
