Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria |
Died on 8 September 2007.
Joan worked at the Australian National Herbarium in Canberra from 1989 to April 2000. She was instrumental in planning, co-ordinating and executing the physical combination of the CBG and CANB specimen collections in the early 1990s, as well as undertaking the challenging role of building manager as research and herbarium staff from the ANBG and CSIRO were brought together in the new building. Joan also provided excellent training to many staff and volunteers in the technical aspects of herbarium work. Her daughter Kerry also worked at the herbarium in the early 1990s.
