Born at Camperdown, Victoria, on 28 July 1855 and died at Haberfield, NSW, on 10 April 1932.
Hardiman commenced duties with the Forest Service of New South Wales, now the Forestry Commission, on 1 January 1893 and at one stage was District Forester at Taree. It is that area from which he collected the type of Eucalyptus rudderi. The Forestry Commission have no available record of the date of Hardiman’s retirement, but it is presumed to have been before 1924.
