Born in Inglewood, Vic., 1876; died in Quambatook, Vic, in 1957.
One of at least four children, to Henry Kentish (c.1827-1920) and Elizabeth Francis née Webb (c.1836-1918). Martha's parents were married in SA, but settled on a grazing property 'Pyramid View' at Pyramid Hill, Vic. Martha's father was declared insolvent in 1889. Martha lived at Charlton with her brother, Walter, for several years before moving to Melbourne to live with her parents in Kew.
Recruited by her cousin JESSIE HUSSEY, Martha collected MEL specimens at Wychitella, 1895.
In 1904, she married James Barrett Mann (1875-1968), a farmer at 'Morningquest', Quambatook, and they had three children.
Martha died in Quambatook in 1957 in her 81st year.
