Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria |
Notes from Maiden, :
"Some of his specimens (Port Jackson) in the National Herbarium, Sydney, are over fifty years old, but I have been unable to trace full particulars concerning the collector. Kippist in Trans. Linn. Soc.,xxi, 209, refers to a plant introduced to Kew in 1845 ‘in a case sent by Dr. McWilliam in 1845 from Norfolk Island.’ This may be a clue to the doctor. Dr. McWilliam is also credited in Harvey’s Nereis Australis, (1847) with seaweeds from Norfolk Island."
