Born at Haverford West, Pembroke, Wales, about 1864 (his age was given as 93 on his death certificate) and he died at Windsor, Brisbane, Qld, on 14 June 1957.
It is not known when he migrated to Australia but he was an officer of Forest Service of Queensland in the early 1900s. He was stationed at Atherton in 1915 when he collected the type of Eucalyptus pachycalvx and was at Benarkin, not far from Brisbane, at the time he retired in the early l930s.
