Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria |
Born at Rokeby, Tas., on 23 April 1832 and died on his property ‘Waterloo’, Sandford, Tas., on 27 September 1923.
The eucalypt Eucalyptus morrisbyi grew naturally on the property and Morrisby gathered seed and planted the species on the farm, which was still the home of a Morrisby in 1978. Other descendants of his, of the same name, still farm and live in the district or are engaged in business in Hobart.
