Born in Stanley, Vic. 20 June 1867; died in Corryong, Vic., 18 October 1974
One of eight children, to Thomas Rawes (c.1835-1891) and Emma née Neville (c.1838-1828). The family settled at 'Raisgill', Nariel Creek, Upper Murray.
Emma collected MEL specimens on the upper Murray River, 1888.
Her brother, Gerard Rawes (1866-1953) contributed nature notes to the newspaper.
She did not marry, and died in 1974 in Corryong aged 107.
