Had a Masters degree in horticulture from a university in Holland.
Joined the staff of the Canberra Botanic Gardens (now Australian National Botanic Gardens, ANBG) herbarium (CBG) in 1972.
Undertook several field trips to western NSW and northern SA, some in association with Ian Telford, before leaving around 1974.
It is understood that he was later employed by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, as a horticulturalist.
