Born, probably at Newcastle, New South Wales, on 2 December 1924, died in Gordon, New South Wales, on 1 April 1983.
On the staff of the Botany School, University of New South Wales from 1962, Senior Lecturer at the time of his death. Instrumental in developing the herbarium (UNSW), as well as carrying out floristic work in north-eastern New South Wales, and the Kakadu region of the Northern Territory. His taxonomic interests were in 'woody' monocotyledons, Asteraceae and Myrtaceae. His main herbarium is in UNSW.
