Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria |
Born in Dar es Salaam, Tanganyika (now Tanzania), 18 March 1960;
Annette graduated from The University of Western Australia with a BSC (Hons) in 1983.
She started but did not complete a PhD at the same university.
From 1993 she was
employed at the Australian Biological Resources Study (ABRS) in Canberra as an editor for the Flora
of Australia.
She was selected as ABLO officer in Kew for a one-year term in 2003, and arrived in England on 22 November, 2003. She had a
week-long overlap and handover period with the previous ABLO, Roberta Cowan.
Her personal work while ABLO was split between
editing for the Flora and pursuing her own research on Astroloma (Ericaceae)
and Pandanaceae.
After 11 months in Kew she returned to ABRS and continued working on the Flora of Australia project until
the end of 2013, at which point she and her husband moved to Perth, WA, to be closer to her parents. After exhausting her accumulated leave, she resigned from ABRS in May 2014.
