Part of the isotype specimen held at the Australian National Herbarium, Canberra. The original description of Parmeliopsis chlorolecanorica was published in 2007. Further research into the foliose, Parmelia-like lichens has shown that this species is better-placed in the genus Austroparmelina, defined in 2010, so this species is now known as Austroparmelina chlorolecanorica.
