ASBS Annual Conference
26–30 November 2023
The Australasian Systematic Botany Society, the Society of Australian Systematic Biologists and the Australian Biological Resources Study are presenting a joint conference for 2023. This special combined systematics and taxonomy conference will also celebrate the 50th birthdays of both the ASBS and ABRS. The in-person component will be held at the Kambri Cultural Centre, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. An online participation option will be available. Registration and welcome mixer will be held on the evening of Sunday 26 November, with the conference running from Monday 27 November to Thursday 30 November. Notes:
- The 2020 Burbidge lecture, "New perspectives on species recognition and the distribution of non-indigenous marine microalgae in New Zealand", was delivered at the 2021 conference but was not published in the ASBS Newsletter. A paper by W.A.Nelson et al. (2021) in Botanica Marina [https://doi.org/10.1515/bot-2021-0042] covers the same subject matter.
- The 2017 Burbidge lecture, "A social history of the fern in New Zealand", was not published in the ASBS Newsletter. A public lecture by P.J.Brownsey that covers the same subject matter can be viewed on YouTube.
