Born NSW 1861, died 15 April 1901.
Born in NSW, the eldest daughter of John Oxley Portus (d.1901), a contractor, and Anne Elizabeth née Hannah. The family moved to Rockhampton, c.1864. In 1885, Ada married Edmund D'Olier Foot (1852-1930), of 'Springsure Station', and they had five children. Ada collected MEL specimens at 'Springsure Station' and Nogoa River, 1890; and Mount Salvator and 'Cungelella Station', 1891.
Ada's husband, and sisters-in-law HARRIETTE SOPHIE BIDDULPH and ELLEN CAROLINE BIDDULPH, and nieces ALICE CAROLINE BIDDULPH and FLORENCE FRANCES BIDDULPH, also collected MEL specimens. Ellen died in 1901 in her 40th year.
