Born in Woodstock, Lexton, Vic., 1850, died at Newrybar, NSW, 13 October 1888.
One of five daughters, to a pastoralist, James Hodgkinson (1811-1892), and Mary née Marshall (1824-1889). The Hodgkinsons moved to 'Lennox Head' at the mouth of the Richmond River NSW in 1866.
Nina collected MEL specimens (including algae) at Richmond River, 1874.
She collected
types of:
Kallymenia nitophylloides J.Agardh (1885),
Caulerpa
hodgkinsoniae J.Agardh (1887) as 'Miss Hodkinson', named
for her, and
Caulerpa annulata Lucas (1931).
Jacob Agardh identified Nina's algal specimens for Mueller.
Nina's mother, MARY HODGKINSON, also collected MEL specimens.
In 1884 at Ballina, Nina married William Perry Seymour (c.1840-1938), a settler and former soldier and sailor. They had one child.
Nina died of convulsions in 1888 at Newrybar in her 38th year.
