Born in Yeriminup, WA, 1880; died in Perth in 1973.
One of four children, to settlers George Grey Egerton Warburton (c.1844-1913) and Amy Sophy Hester (1851-1933). The family settled at 'Yeriminup Estate' on the Frankland River.
Winifred collected MEL specimens (including fungi) at Gordon River, 1896.
Her great-uncle, Peter Egerton Warburton (1813-1889) and aunt, Mary Egerton Warburton (1851-1930), also collected MEL specimens.
In 1907, Winifred married John (Jock) Clifton Hassell (1879-1945) of Jarramunyup. They had one daughter.
Winifred's father-in-law, Albert Young Hassell (1841-1918) also collected MEL specimens.
Winifred was divorced in 1928, and in 1932 married Thomas Elliott.
Winifred died in Perth in 1973 in her 93rd year.
