Rangoon Creeper

A climbing shrub with older stems thorny. The flowers are showy, fragrant, white or pink, becoming deep red.
It grows well among the large limestone blocks where disturbance has exposed the limestone and large trees or shrubs cannot become established
It is considered native to Christmas Island, but has become an invasive weed in parts of northern mainland Australia.
It is a widespread species, probably indigenous to Africa, S.E. Asia and Papua New Guinea.
