Podetia 2–6 cm tall, forming dense mats, greenish yellow to yellow; surface distinctly cobwebby; heads distinct, rounded, greenish yellow to yellow; branching predominantly trichotomous, occasionally tetrachotomous, isotomic or subisotomic, with branches 0.3–1 mm diam., most axils distinctly perforated. Apothecia terminal, 0.2–0.7 mm diam., becoming convex, dark brown. CHEMISTRY: K-, KC- or KC+ yellow, P-. Perlatolic acid (major) and anziaic acid (trace), usnic acid (major). | ||
Common in Tas. and less frequent in Vic. and S.A.; also in Lord Howe Is. and Norfolk Is.; widely distributed in the Southern Hemisphere. | ||
