Basal squamules evanescent or persistent, 2–5 mm long, 1–2 mm diam., irregularly lobed, with crenate to incised margins. Podetia 1–2 cm tall, 0.5–1 mm diam., simple, tapering with narrow terminal scyphi or with marginal scyphi, corticate at base and below apothecia, remainder corticate with floury-sorediate areas, or ecorticate and floury-sorediate; scyphi to 1 cm diam. Apothecia marginal on scyphi, conspicuous, 0.5–2 mm diam., convex, pale brown to dark brown. Pycnidia marginal on scyphi, 0.2 mm diam., dark brown. CHEMISTRY: K-, KC-, P+ red. Fumarprotocetraric (major) and protocetraric (trace) acids with or without physodalic (major) acid. | ||
Occurs in W.A., Qld, N.S.W., Lord Howe Is., Norfolk Is., A.C.T., Vic. and Tas.; grows on soil, among mosses and less commonly on dead wood. | ||
