Thallus to 8 cm wide, often thin and fragile, leaden grey, rarely whitish grey, yellowish grey or bluish green. Lobes 1–5 mm wide, broadly flabellate to cuneate, imbricate or adjacent, flat or slightly convex, sparsely branched, often lobulate; apices round with deflexed margins. Upper surface epruinose, isidiate. Isidia sparse or dense, laminal or occasionally marginal, flattened, squamulose, sometimes branched. Lower surface usually pale. Rhizines pale to black. Apothecia very rare, to 3 mm wide, pale red to black. Ascospores fusiform, 7–13 × 3–5 µm. | ||
Occurs in W.A., N.T. and Qld. Widely distributed in tropical and subtropical parts of the world. Grows on bark of various trees in rainforest, often in shaded situations. Sometimes on trees in eucalypt woodland. Rarely on mossy rocks. | ||
