| Thallus small, dull, epruinose, dark olive-green to blackish green. Lobes 0.5–3 mm wide, distinctly radiating, irregular, imbricate or discrete. Upper surface smooth to densely verrucose, centre of thallus often covered with short isidia-like lobules. Apothecia numerous if present, 1–2.5 mm wide, sessile or appressed; disc flat to convex, epruinose, light to dark red; thalline exciple thin, entire, somewhat prominent, sometimes disappearing. Asci 60–70 × 15–20 µm. Ascospores 13–26 × 4.5–9 µm, ellipsoidal oblong, straight, rarely curved, ends acute or obtuse, 2-celled (rarely 3–4-celled), not constricted at septum. Pycnidia to 260 µm wide, marginal; pycnidial gel hyaline. Conidia 4.5–6 µm long, straight or slightly curved, slightly swollen towards ends. |  |

| This species is found on limestone and granite rock and soils in W.A., N.T., S.A., N.S.W., Vic. and Tas. It also occurs in Europe, U.S.A. and New Zealand. | ||
