Thallus foliose, ±subsquamulose, closely adnate, 0.4–2 cm wide or coalescing to 5 cm, 27–60 µm thick, dull to dark grey. Lobes ±rotund, flat, 0.5–3 mm wide; margins entire to ±lobulate, ±isidiate. Upper surface, usually matt, smooth or roughened, isidiate; isidia squamuliform. Lower surface rarely isidiate, naked or with minute rhizines. Apothecia laminal, sessile or very shortly pedicellate, 0.5–1 mm wide; disc concave to flat, pale to very pale orange; thalline exciple smooth, not isidiate, pale cream to whitish. Ascospores 6–8 per ascus, ellipsoidal to narrowly ellipsoidal, submuriform, 17–25 × 6–10 µm; apices usually obtuse. Pycnidia submarginal. Conidia 2–3 µm long; apices rarely swollen. | ||
Occurs in Christmas Is. and in north-eastern Qld, less commonly in the south-east. Locally common. Prefers the bark of vine stems close to the forest floor or tree bases, in strand rainforest, coastal rainforest gullies or subcoastal mountain gullies of north-eastern and rarely south-eastern Qld. | ||
