As subsp. molliuscula, but ... Thallus less than 5 cm long, somewhat rigid, grey-green; branches slightly inflated; papillae moderately dense; fibrils 2 (rarely 5–8) mm long. Medulla arachnoid;axis 1/4–1/3 width of branch. Apothecia 2–5 mm diam. CHEMISTRY: Cortex containing usnic acid. Medulla K+ yellow → orange-red; containing norstictic acid (major), scabrosins (major or minor), salazinic acid (minor), protocetraric acid (minor or trace), ±accessory galbinic acid (trace) and consalazinic acid (trace), or salazinic acid (minor) and galbinic acid (trace), or salazinic acid (minor) and consalazinic acid (trace). | ||
Moderately common in parts of eastern Qld and N.S.W. at elevations of 180–1000 m. | ||
