| Thallus adnate, to 3–4 cm wide. Lobes often crowded and imbricate, flat, 1–3 mm wide; margins crenulate; apices rotund. Upper surface yellow-green, broadly undulating, rugose centrally and ultimately areolate, mostly dull, lacking soredia, dactyls and isidia; lobe apices shiny, becoming white maculate. Medulla white. Lower surface with sparse, short, simple or tufted rhizines. Apothecia sessile, 2–5 mm wide; disc concave becoming undulating, sometimes crowded and distorted, cinnamon-brown to dark brown; thalline exciple involute, smooth. Ascospores 12–14 × 5–8 µm. Pycnidia common. Conidia weakly bifusiform to fusiform, 7–12 × 1 µm. CHEMISTRY: cortex K-, UV-; medulla K-, C-, KC-, P-; containing usnic acid, scabrosin 4,4'-diacetate (major), ±caperatic acid, ±atranorin and unidentified scabrosin derivatives (minor). |  |

| Scattered, endemic, occurs on bark of trees and shrubs in drier areas of southern and central Australia (W.A., N.T. and S.A.). | ||
