Thallus adnate, to c. 2.5 cm wide. Lobes separate, sublinear, dichotomously branched, 0.5–0.8 mm wide; margins subcrenate. Upper surface whitish grey to grey, flat, shiny on younger lobes, dull and irregularly cracked on older lobes, emaculate, without pustules or isidia; soralia mostly subterminal, orbicular, capitate. Medulla white. Lower surface densely rhizinate; rhizines moderately dichotomously branched. Apothecia and pycnidia not seen. CHEMISTRY: cortex K+ yellow, UV-; medulla K-, C-, KC+ rose, P-, UV+ blue-white; containing atranorin, chloroatranorin and alectoronic acid (major). | ||
This rare endemic species is currently only known from the type collection. Grows on bark. | ||
