| Thallus adnate, fragile, to 6–8 cm wide. Lobes subirregular, 2–3 mm wide; margins becoming lobulate-dissected; cilia irregularly dispersed but mostly in lobe axils, to 0.8 mm long. Upper surface pale greenish white, smooth to rugulose, shiny, without soredia; isidia sparse to moderately dense, erect, cylindrical at first, becoming procumbent, dorsiventral, flattened-expanded, to 0.6 mm long. Medulla pale yellow. Lower surface densely rhizinate; rhizines simple, black. Apothecia and pycnidia not seen. CHEMISTRY: cortex K+ yellow; medulla K-, C-, KC-, P-; containing atranorin, chloroatranorin, secalonic acid A, zeorin, leucotylic acid and unidentified secalonic acid pigments. | ||
