Thallus foliose, adnate to tightly adnate, to 1.5–3 cm wide. Lobes contiguous to subimbricate, flat, irregular to sublinear, 0.5–1.5 mm wide. Upper surface olive-brown to dark brown, dull, smooth to slightly rugose at lobe ends, becoming rugose and cracked towards centre; isidia subglobose to cylindrical, simple or branched, with apices syncorticate and intact. Lower surface pale tan; rhizines moderately dense, simple, to 0.3 mm long, concolorous or becoming darker. Apothecia uncommon, sessile to shortly pedicellate, to 1 mm wide; disc concave, dark brown; thalline exciple entire or sparsely isidiate. Ascospores 7–9 × 4.5–5.5 µm. Pycnidia rare. Conidia bifusiform, 5.5–7 × 1 µm. CHEMISTRY: cortex K-, HNO3+ dark blue-green; medulla K-, C-, KC-, P-, UV-; containing divaricatic acid. | ||
