| Thallus epiphloeodal, occasionally epilithic, usually rimose, pale yellowish green, pale olive-brown or creamy buff, minutely to coarsely rugulose and/or verruculose, 50–150 µm thick, corticate, without soralia; prothallus pale grey, dark grey-brown or not apparent. Algae Trentepohlia; cells 5–15 × 5–10 µm. Perithecial verrucae convex to subglobose, 0.54–1 mm diam.; wall containing a layer of colourless crystals; ostiole inconspicuous; periostiolar area 0.1–0.45 mm diam., concolorous with the thallus to almost black. Involucrellum apical to dimidiate, internally pale yellowish brown to orange-brown. Exciple 20–30 µm thick, hyaline to pale yellow-brown. Centrum 0.28–0.5 mm wide. Asci broadly fusiform to elongate-fusiform, 180–280 × 28–50 µm. Ascospores narrowly to broadly ellipsoidal, muriform, with 12–22 transverse septa, each loculus with (1–) 2–3 (–4) longitudinal/diagonal septa, 42–109 × 13–29 µm; perispore 1–3 µm thick. Pycnidia immersed in the thallus or in 0.15–0.3 mm diam. verrucae. Conidia fusiform, 2–3 × 0.7–1 µm. |  |

| Occurs in Christmas Is., northern N.T., eastern Qld and north-eastern N.S.W.; grows on bark and on rock in wet-sclerophyll forest and rainforest. Also in the Neotropics, East Africa, SE Asia, New Caledonia and the South Pacific (including Lord Howe Is.). | ||
