Porina fulvella Müll.Arg.
     
  Flora 66: 335 (1883). T: Brazil, J.I.Puiggari 361; holo: G n.v.  
     
  Thallus epiphyllous, usually comprising small roundish colonies, pale grey or pale to medium greenish grey, smooth, matt; prothallus not apparent. Algae Phycopeltis; cells rectangular, forming radiating plates. Perithecia weakly to strongly convex, 0.15–0.3 mm diam., often translucent, pale yellowish orange or yellowish brown; base spreading; apex plane to rounded; ostiole inconspicuous or slightly depressed. Involucrellum extending to the base of the exciple, yellow-brown in thin section, K+ orange, enclosing a thin layer of algae. Exciple c. 10 µm thick, pale yellow-brown. Asci narrowly obclavate, 48–60 × 9–13 µm. Ascospores ±fusiform, 3-septate, 17–25 × 3–4 µm; perispore not apparent. Pycnidia not seen.
     
  Occurs in south-eastern Qld and eastern N.S.W.; grows on the leaves of rainforest trees and shrubs. A pantropical species.
